RAISING HOPE THAILAND

Over the past years, Holy Basil owners Duncan and Julia have been supporting people in the village areas of Phimai in North Eastern Thailand in various ways. This passion for assisting others in need has now grown.

Land has been purchased and buildings are underway. We have established a Community Development Organisation (Nugrob Baan Wai) in this rural agricultural region of Thailand. The Project established for assisting this organisation is ‘Raising Hope Thailand’’ where we are assisting children, the elderly, women and families who are more vulnerable and in need of assistance and care.

We will be assisting in several ways.

SCHOOL AND EDUCATION
An education fund to help children who’s families can no longer afford school fees, uniforms, school supplies, or even transport to and from school.We aim to fund that gap and help get them back into the class room.

HEALTH AND WELL BEING
Health funds will assist children, elderly and women at risk, get the basic health care they need including affording medicine, attending doctors appointments, dental and optical treatment.

JOB SKILLING
A Commercial kitchen is being built to house a cooking school where teens and young adults who are in need of education and training can be given cookery job skills to assist them with attaining employment or to to assist them to have their own business start ups

BUILDING PROJECTS
We will help in funding and facilitating working bees to clean, and repair homes that are in disrepair so that people can live in a more safe and secure environment. Fixing of roofing, walls, clean water and efficient waste services for those living in poorer and unsafe conditions.

COMMUNITY GARDEN
Raising Hope Thailand have established many fruit trees on the property over the past years and there is a new community garden underway. A place where people in the community will be able to grow and learn about basic agricultural skills to help them become sustainable growers of vegetables and fruits.

COMMUNITY HALL
The next building project will be a community hall where local people can come to celebrate, gather, learn, and host local events. The foundations are already in the ground!
